Tips that apply across Wordle, Scrabble, and all other word games
Start With Common Letters
E, A, R, I, O, T, N, S appear in the most English words. Opening with CRANE or SLATE in Wordle tests 5 of the top 8 most frequent letters.
Learn 2 and 3-Letter Words
In Scrabble, short words are power moves. Knowing ZIT, ZAX, QUA, and OXO can score massive points on premium squares without using rare tiles.
Think About Parallel Plays
In Scrabble, placing a word parallel to an existing word can create multiple new words simultaneously, dramatically multiplying your score.
Use the S Wisely
The letter S is extremely versatile — it can pluralize almost any noun and extend verbs. Save an S tile for a moment when it can score 10+ extra points.
Vowel Balance Matters
Keep your Scrabble rack balanced between vowels and consonants. A rack with 5 vowels or 5 consonants limits your options — swap tiles if stuck.
Track Eliminated Letters
In Wordle, write down or mentally track every grey letter. Reusing eliminated letters wastes precious guesses.
